(ANNIE SUBMITS THE FOLLOWING SESSION REPORT:)
This evening we embarked on an epic Friday night, beginning with the less-than-mediocre trip to the Rembrandt exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts followed by several margaritas at Salsa a la Salsa. Once thoroughly liquored, we ventured to the king of hipster liquor stores and purchased a fine, cask-strength bottle of Redbreast whiskey to enjoy during a low-key Summoner Wars sesh.
I decided to try the Swamp Orcs while Joe played with the Sand Goblins. My Swamp Orcs had quite the advantage with the aid of “Vine Walls” which allowed me to not only gain attack strength by moving through/on top of the walls, but also block any attack force Joe might muster. The Common Unit strengths were decent (not as weak as those tragic Cloaks), and allowed me to set up a nice defense while moving to attack Joe’s summoner. Joe made some legitimate attacks on my Common Units and was able to destroy and build magic with them, but he was never able to get the upper hand after a good attack phase because my Vine Walls were placed wherever one of my Hunter Common Units was destroyed.
Combined with my Vine Wall additional strength and strategic maneuvering, I helped Krusk (Sand Goblin Summoner) “shuffle off his mortal coil.” An entertaining game for me, a frustrating game for Joe (only made better for him by some cat cuddlez and good Pinot Noir). Looking forward to our next round of thrilling Summoner Wars.
